“Is it normal to still be replaying my birth experience?”

“Why can’t I stop thinking about what went wrong during birth?”
“Am I overreacting to my delivery experience?”
“Why do I feel disconnected from my body?”
“Is it okay to grieve the birth I thought I’d have?”
We’re here to walk alongside you, so you don’t have to navigate this chapter alone.
How we can help moms navigating a birth trauma
Process your birth experience
Reduce emotional distress tied to memories
Reconnect with your body and sense of safety
Release shame, self-blame, or unresolved grief
Feel more grounded & present in motherhood
A birth experience can be traumatic even if everything “looked fine” on paper.
If your delivery felt frightening, out of control, dismissed, or left you replaying moments you can’t forget, your experience matters.
Mère offers virtual birth trauma therapy designed for mothers who are struggling after a difficult or traumatic birth. Whether you’re experiencing intrusive memories, emotional numbness, anxiety, or a lingering sense of grief or anger, our therapist offers compassionate, trauma-informed support to help you gently process what happened.
Becca Hamilton LPC, PMH-C is specially trained in Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR). EMDR is used to help clients gently process traumatic memories. For birth trauma, this means working with the nervous system to reduce distress, soften emotional reactivity, and restore a sense of safety in the body.

“I feel called to care for women in these chapters because I am one. I experience both weakness and inadequacy, as well as deep gratitude and joy, every day in this season of motherhood. I know how overwhelming and disorienting it can feel at times. It is a privilege to hold space for women who feel helpless, defeated, full of grief, or unsure if they will ever feel peace, belonging, or joy again. I offer a place of safety and compassion where those feelings are honored, not fixed, and where true hope and healing begin.”
Surprisingly, I am an extroverted-introvert; I love meaningful conversation and connection, but I refuel through solitude. Time outside, especially walking and running, and diving into a new book (usually whatever my “Good Books Book Club” has selected next) are essential rhythms that help me stay grounded, curious, and present in my own life and in my work.
My greatest hope is that clients leave each session feeling hopeful, loved, and empowered in their journey. I deeply desire for my clients to understand that the emotional and physical challenges they face during infertility, pregnancy, postpartum, or the broader maternal period are worthy of attention and care. By showing up and sharing their story, they are actively engaging in their healing process and taking courageous steps toward their own health and their family's well-being.
